About
Hi, I’m Adam. I like finding out what an idea can become.
Opend Studio is my independent studio in South Korea. It brings together software, research, physical prototyping, photography — and a lot of curiosity.
Background
From research to the workbench.
My background is in AI, computer vision and software research. I studied engineering at the master’s level (M.A.Sc., University of Guelph) and have worked as a research engineer, including on AI for healthcare.
Research taught me habits I bring to everything: define the question clearly, test assumptions early, measure honestly and document what you learn.
Alongside that I’ve always built things — 3D-printed parts, electronics, small mechanisms and the software that ties them together — and I photograph the world and the objects in it. Opend Studio is where all of that becomes useful to other people.
Draft Check these details and add anything you’d like to highlight.
How I work
Curious, practical and honest about trade-offs.
Make something early
A rough prototype answers questions faster than a long discussion. I like to get to something tangible quickly.
Test, then refine
Each iteration should teach us something. Keep what works, change what doesn’t.
Explain as I go
You’ll know what I’m trying, why, and what I found — without needing technical vocabulary.
Be clear about fit
I’m one person with a workshop, not a factory. If something isn’t a good match, I’ll say so and suggest another route.
What I work with
The toolbox.
Making
3D modeling, 3D printing, enclosures, mechanisms
Electronics
Microcontrollers, sensors, motors, NFC
Software
Web apps, tools, interfaces, computer vision
Photography
Product, campaign and creative imagery, printing
Draft Add specific tools (printers, software, camera) if you’d like to list them.
Let’s make something.
Whether it’s a prototype, a custom part, a small tool or a set of photographs — I’d like to hear about it.
